The festival event runs from Tuesday 7 - Monday 13 April 2026 at Stratosphere, Dynamic Earth. Find RDS hosted activities from Tuesday 7 - Friday 10 April.
Across the week, University of Edinburgh researchers will showcase a wide range of scientific topics, with a different theme each day:
Tuesday, 7th April: Mental Health
Wednesday, 8th April: Environment and Young People (with the Scottish Centre for Administrative Data Research, SCADR)
Thursday, 9th April: Cardiology
Friday, 10th April: Cognition and Asthma
Interactive, hands-on activities will highlight the importance of data for research on each of these topics. RDS will be joined by partners to explore:
- How secure access to public sector data supports research that benefits people across Scotland.
- How researchers apply for and access de-identified data
- How data is kept secure within Trusted Research Environments
- How public sector data can support research in areas such as health, education and social care
Come along and chat with researchers and data specialists to explore how secure data access helps translate research into meaningful impact across Scotland.
