In Scotland, our data systems are relatively advanced - we have a rich history in data informatics and longstanding datasets with good population coverage of around six million. This means using data to provide an evidence base for interventions to answer societal questions like health inequalities, climate change, cost of living and productivity should be embraced.
During this event, we’ll cover how RDS is transforming data access in Scotland, working with partners to address society’s challenges through timely insights gained through safe, efficient approvals. This is partly being achieved through a new service called the Researcher Access Service.
Launched in April 2024, the Researcher Access Service is a digital service that makes it quicker and simpler for approved researchers to access public sector data for research. At the event, you’ll learn more about how the service works and our plans for the future. We’ll also hear how Public Health Scotland is transforming the ways it provides services and public value by working with partners, in areas including data for research to improve wellbeing.
